Shooting leaves 2 dead on Pottawatomie Reservation

? Officials on the Pottawatomie Reservation in northeast Kansas say two people are dead after a shooting there.

Tribal police say 70-year-old Joseph H. Mattwaoshshe was shot to death Thursday night. And 64-year-old Donald D. Allen died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The shooting occurred at a housing complex west of Highway 75 near Mayetta. The two men were dead when officers arrived.

Steve Ortiz, chairman of Prairie Band Pottawatomie Nation, says everyone involved in the shooting is dead.

Mattwaoshshe and Allen were both members of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
