Fort Riley ? A 26-year-old Fort Riley soldier from Miami, Fla., died last week in Afghanistan, less than two months after he was deployed.

Fort Riley says Sgt. Amaru Aguilar, a scout, was killed by small arms fire last Friday in Kandahar Province. He was deployed in March to Afghanistan with the 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.

Aguilar also served two tours in Iraq.
