Law enforcement reopens investigation of 1992 Baxter Springs murder case

? The 1992 stabbing death of a 20-year-old Baxter Springs woman is getting a new look from law enforcement officers.

Columbus police Chief Chuck Sharp and Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves say they are working hard again on the case of Jennifer Judd, who was found stabbed several times in her home on May 11, 1992.

Sharp says investigators have a suspect in mind but need some new evidence to be able to file charges. He says the man has hired an attorney and is not cooperating.

The Joplin Globe reports that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation reopened its investigation of the cold case four years ago. It is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction.
