Girard man wounded by target practice bullet

? A southeast Kansas man has been wounded in both legs after a bullet fired by one of two people target practicing nearby went astray.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says Charles Jack was working in his garden in rural Girard when a bullet penetrated both legs.

Deputies found two people who had been shooting a .40-caliber handgun at plywood positioned in front of a small bale of hay less than half a mile up the road.

Officials say neither realized that one of their bullets had traveled to Jack’s home and struck him.
