Wichita aviation museum to dedicate new aircraft restoration center

? The Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita has delayed the opening of a new exhibit to make way for the dedication of its new aircraft restoration center.

Officials plan a May 12 open house at the restoration center to dedicate the new facility. Spirit AeroSystems donated 15 acres along with four buildings on the property in late February that will be used for restoring historic aircraft.

The event means the museum will move the opening of its exhibit “Plane Plans” to a new date in September. The exhibit is a retrospective on original and little-known plans of early aircraft.
