Topeka sex offender loses bid for parole
Topeka ? A man who nearly killed a 13-year-old Topeka boy during a sexual assault in 1981 will not be paroled, and isn’t eligible to be considered again for another 10 years.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported Tuesday that the Kansas Parole Board recently denied James Monroe Pollock’s bid for parole. The board met earlier this month with the 69-year-old Pollock, who is serving a 69 years to life sentence in Lansing Correctional Facility.
The boy Pollock assaulted nearly died and required 16 surgeries to recover from his injuries.
Nine people testified against releasing Pollock. It’s the third time his bid for parole has been denied.
