Topeka ? Gov. Sam Brownback has named a new member to the state board that regulates Kansas utilities and motor carriers.

Lawyer Mark Sievers’ nomination to the Kansas Corporation Commission has to be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.

The three members of the KCC serve staggered four year terms.

Others KCC members are Ward Lloyd, commissioner, and KCC Chairman Thomas Wright.
