16-year-old pleads to part in double homicide in Wichita

? A 16-year-old from Wichita has pleaded no contest to charges arising from the shooting deaths of a couple whose two toddlers were left alone with their parents’ bodies.

Joshua Duque entered his plea Thursday in the Thanksgiving 2009 deaths of 25-year-old Jessie Foust and 26-year-old Adrian Jackson.

Sedgwick County District Judge Anthony Powell then found Duque guilty as an adult on two counts of solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Duque was also convicted of an aggravated robbery.

Nineteen-year-old Sam Holton is serving an 18-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to shooting the couple.

The Wichita Eagle reports that prosecutor Marc Bennett said Duque encouraged Holton to commit the murders.

Duque will be sentenced April 7.
