Topeka ? An elderly Topeka couple who had been missing since Saturday are safe in Nebraska.

The Shawnee County sheriff’s office was notified early Monday that 75-year-old Raymond E. Smith and his 79-year-old wife, Beverly, were found in Imperial, Neb.

Sheriff’s Cpl. Errin Mahan says the couple, who both have dementia, are being evaluated and their family is on the way to western Nebraska to pick them up.

A Silver Alert was issued when the Smiths were reported missing on Saturday.
