STAFFORD ? Authorities in a central Kansas county are searching for a man who held two nurses at knifepoint and stole narcotics from a hospital.

KSNW-TV reports the man entered Stafford County Hospital around 12:30 a.m. Monday demanding drugs. He forced one of the nurses down a hall at knifepoint, but the woman told him she didn’t have keys to a medicine cart.

The man threw the nurse to the floor, then grabbed a second nurse who did have keys. Police say the nurse unlocked the medicine cart and the suspect grabbed a variety of drugs before leaving the hospital through a front door.

Stafford police want to hear from anyone with information about the crime.
