Dodge City’s Boot Hill Museum presents redevelopment plan

? Officials of the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City are considering spending up to $7 million to redevelop the museum to attract more visitors.

The museum’s executive director, Lara Brehm, detailed the plan for the Dodge City Commission on Monday. The commission did not take any action on the proposals.

She said the architects devised three plans, with costs ranging from $3 million to $7 million. The options include moving the museum’s entrance, creating a public park, or adding an upper level to the Great Western Hotel.

Brehm said which option is chosen will depend on how much funding is available.

The Dodge City Globe reports that all three options include spending $1 million to upgrade existing buildings along Front Street.
