Leader of Kansas City charity ends 8,000-mile walk through Latin America
Kansas City, Kan. ? The president of the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging has returned to the Kansas City, Kan.-area where the charity is based after finishing a nearly 8,000-mile walk through Latin America.
Seventy-five-year-old Robert Hentzen set off in December 2009 from the Central American nation of Guatemala for a trip aimed at raising awareness of poverty. He recently wrapped up his trip through 12 countries in Valparaiso, Chile.
Along the way, he frequently was joined by the poor people he is seeking to help.
Now, Hentzen is spending his time sharing his experience. He hopes his journey will encourage more people to sign up to sponsor young and old people in need.
