Animals rescued in Wichita need new homes

? Two rehabilitation centers that help horses rescued in the Wichita area are trying to find new homes for some of the horses. .

Sedgwick County deputies first take seized horses to a facility in Kechi. Eventually, the horses are transferred to the Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary in Wichita.

Sedgwick County detective Dale Butcher says both facilities are need more room.

The Wichita Eagle reports that Hope in the Valley is planning an adoption day for more than 20 horses from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Until a court decides the owner can no longer have the animal, it lives at the Kechi facility. Then, if it can be rehabilitated and adopted, the horse is placed at Hope in the Valley.
