Former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson is scheduled to give a Landon Lecture at Kansas State University.

Simpson speech is scheduled for Oct. 26. It is free to the public.

Simpson was governor of Wyoming and a three-term U.S. senator from that state before retiring in 1996. He currently is a lawyer and teaches at the University of Wyoming.

Since his retirement from the Senate, he has served on numerous political committees, including an Iraq Study Group and the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.
