Arkansas City A coroner says a southern Kansas man who was found dead while riding his bicycle died a natural death, although heat was likely a factor.
Dr. Lacie Gregory says 47-year-old Larry Godfrey's death will be considered a natural death. He was diabetic and was on medication, which led to cardiovascular collapse. But Gregory told The Winfield Courier that heat was a factor in Godfrey's death.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Department says Godfrey's body was found on Saturday near Oxford, lying near his bicycle.
Family members tell The Arkansas City Traveler that Godfrey was training for a bicycle race to raise funds for multiple sclerosis research.
