Carbon monoxide kills 2 in Topeka

? Authorities in Topeka say carbon monoxide poisoning killed two people over the weekend and sent a third to the hospital.

Emergency responders found the three people Saturday night at a house where a car was running inside a garage.

The victims’ names were being withheld while relatives were notified. Authorities on Monday identified the two who died only as a Topeka woman and a 25-year-old man. The man’s father was admitted to a Topeka hospital’s intensive care unit.

Authorities say a car in the garage had been jump-started and was left running to charge the battery.
