Lottery Commission approves Mulvane casino expansion plans
Topeka ? The Kansas Star Casino being built near Mulvane will be bigger than previously expected.
The Kansas Lottery Commission this week approved several changes in all three construction phases of the casino. They include adding more space to the gaming floor, hotel and RV park.
Iowa-based Peninsula Gaming has started construction on the first phase of the casino. A temporary casino is scheduled to open early next year, with the permanent casino to open in 2013.
The Wichita Eagle reports that casino general manager Scott Cooper says the changes will add to the estimated $260 million cost of the project but he didn’t have exact figures.
