Agricultural trade exhibition moving to Dodge City next year

? The 3i agricultural trade exhibition show will move to Dodge City next year.

The show had been hosted in alternating years by Garden City and Great Bend for nearly six decades. Organizers say it will be held in Dodge City starting next July through 2016.

The Garden City Telegram reported Tuesday that Eddie Estes, president of the Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, announced the change in an e-mail to 3i exhibitors. The show dates will be changed to the second Thursday through Saturday each July.

This year’s event was held in Garden City in May. Tourism officials estimate it brought in $2 million to Garden City this year.

Estes did not elaborate in the e-mail about the reasons for shifting the show to Dodge City, where the association is based.
