KCK Community College names new president
Kansas City, Kan. ? A top official of a community college district in California has been named president of Kansas City, Kan., Community College.
Doris Givens will succeed Thomas Burke, whose retirement was effective Thursday.
Givens has been serving as vice chancellor for education services for the Kern Community College District in Bakersfield, Calif. The Kansas City Star reports she will be the first woman and first African-American to head the Kansas college.
About 7,600 students attend Kansas City, Kan., Community College.
