We’re looking for your stories from the Kansas Centennial

Fifty years ago, men grew beards and the women donned prairie dresses as Kansas celebrated its centennial.

In Lawrence, Miss America, covered wagons and a play titled “Hello, Kansas!” all came to town.

Do you have a good yarn about the Kansas Centennial celebration in 1961? If so, send us your story or even better submit a photo. We will share your submissions Friday.

You can email your stories to cmetz@ljworld.com or share them in the comments here.
