Charges may be filed in 2007 death of Topeka man

? The 2007 shooting death of a Topeka man is getting new attention, and will be presented to the Shawnee County District Attorney for possible charges.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ibin Sultan Muhammad was shot on Jan 19, 2007, when he opened the door of his apartment in Topeka. Police said at the time that the shooting resulted from an argument.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported Thursday that the case was presented to the district attorney in 2008, but no charges were filed.

Police Maj. Warren Wilson says the case is being re-evaluated. He says it will be presented to District Attorney Chad Taylor in the next week or two “in hopes his office files some charges.”
