Kansas Attorney General Steve Six to join Lawrence law firm after leaving office next week
Outgoing Kansas Attorney General Steve Six is set to become a partner in one of Lawrence’s larger law firms.
Lawrence-based Stevens & Brand announced Wednesday that Six will join the firm as a partner after he leaves office next week.
Before being appointed attorney general in 2008, Six served as a Douglas County District Court judge, and before that was a partner in the Kansas City law firm of Shamberg, Johnson & Bergman.
Six, who is a Lawrence resident, will practice both civil and criminal trial law and handle other complex legal matters, Stevens & Brand said in a release.
Six will end his term as attorney general on Jan. 10. Six was defeated in the general election by Derek Schmidt.
