21-year-old McLouth woman hurt in one-vehicle accident Sunday night on Wellman Road

A 21-year-old McLouth woman was injured Sunday night in a rollover accident on Wellman Road in Jefferson County.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Rachael Nicole Thompson, 21, lost control of a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse she driving about 9:15 p.m. north on Wellman. The accident occurred about 2 miles west of McLouth, just north of Kansas Highway 16.

The Eclipse entered the east ditch, rolled and then caught fire, according to the report. It was unknown whether she was wearing a seat belt.

Belinda Rehmer, a spokeswoman at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, said Thompson was treated and released.

Very glad she's going to be ok. I just hope this slows her down a bit....she has a habit of driving too fast and has annoyed me and my sister quite a few times riding our butts with a baby in our car
