Leavenworth woman pleads guilty to stealing $56,000 from credit union

? A Leavenworth woman admitted that she stole up to $56,000 from a credit union where she worked.

Melinda K. Riddle is scheduled to be sentenced April 1 after pleading guilty to theft and computer crime. She admitted that she took the money from Mainstreet Credit Union, where she worked between in 2009.

County Attorney Todd Thompson says the 38-year-old Riddle admitted Friday that she used the company’s computers to withdraw money from clients’ accounts and accounts for the credit union. The Leavenworth Times reports that she also obtained unauthorized loans and money from checks.
