Wichita ? Wichita police say a man escaped serious injuries after his girlfriend set his shirt on fire while he was wearing it, then threw a large cup of grease on him.

The Wichita Eagle reports the boyfriend called police shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday. He told officers he was able to get the shirt off and didn’t experience any major burns.

He did have some small burns on his forearms and abdomen, and he lost some of the hair on his head. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

His 37-year-old girlfriend was taken into custody.
