Kansas Star Casino gets OK for controlled demonstration

? The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission has given the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane a conditional certificate to hold a controlled demonstration.

The Wichita Eagle reports that commissioners approved the controlled demonstration certificate after touring the casino at Mulvane’s turnpike exit during a two-hour closed session Monday. Earlier Monday, commissioners also approved the casino’s security and surveillance plans.

The casino has to complete at least one controlled demonstration successfully to show state regulators it’s fit to open. The casino plans to open Dec. 26.

The controlled demonstration is scheduled for Friday, and another will be held Dec. 20 if there are any problems during Friday’s demonstration.
