Fort Hays hopes all students out of motel soon

? Fort Hays State University says all its students currently living in a Motel 6 in Hays should be living on campus by the start of spring semester.

In August, 97 students were housed in the motel because of a lack of student housing on campus. The Hays Daily News reports that 38 students and two residential advisers are still living there.

Shana Meyer, with the university’s student affairs office, says no students will be living at the motel by the start of spring semester. The school is expected to have enough room for all its students by then.

The university’s contract with Motel 6 continues until the end of the school year, so students could be housed there again if the student population increases.
