Hundreds line streets of Olathe to welcome home soldier killed in Afghanistan

? Hundreds of people lined a street in Olathe as the body of a Kansas soldier who was killed in Afghanistan returned home.

They honored U.S. Army Specialist Spencer Duncan on Tuesday as his body was driven from the Gardner airport to a funeral home in Olathe. He was one of 30 American soldiers killed Aug. 6 when a Chinook helicopter was shot down.

The procession, led by a police motorcycle convoy, went past the high school Duncan attended.

Duncan’s friends and family had organized the honor, using social networking to urge people to “Stand for Spencer” along the route.
