Wichita man gets 20 years for credit union holdup

? A Wichita man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for his part in a credit union holdup.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says 22-year-old Deshane Gantt was sentenced Monday. He pleaded earlier to one count of brandishing a firearm in a crime of violence.

Gantt and co-defendant Christopher Crabtree were charged with robbing the Catholic Family Federal Credit Union in Wichita last Nov. 8.

Prosecutors said Crabtree agreed to drive Gantt to the credit union. Gantt took a 9 mm pistol inside and told employees he didn’t want a robbery to turn into a homicide.

He stuffed cash into a pillow case, which police found after stopping the car in which Gantt and Crabtree drove off.

Crabtree was sentenced earlier to four years and three months in prison.
