Another trial to start in Wichita boy’s death

? A man whose brother was convicted of murder in the shooting of a 13-year-old Wichita boy is scheduled for trial in the case this week.

Twenty-year-old Eli Betancourt is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Miguel Andrade on June 20 of last year.

Betancourt’s brother, Alejandro, was convicted of first-degree murder on April 15.

KFDI reports that some witnesses in Alejandro Betancourt’s trial said Eli was one of two people who fired shots at Andrade’s home. The boy was shot 10 times when he opened the door.

Prosecutors have said the shooting was a case of mistaken identity. They say Betancourt and other men intended to shoot someone else in revenge but went to the wrong house.
