Andover It's nearly 20 years since one of the deadliest tornadoes in Kansas history killed 13 people in one town alone.
The tornado devastated much of the Wichita suburb of Andover on April 26, 1991. All of the 13 people killed there were residents of a mobile home park.
KFDI-FM reports the City Council will mark the date next Tuesday with an observance before its regular meeting. The names of all 13 victims will be read, and emergency responders and Red Cross officials will talk about how best to prepare for another such disaster.
The same tornado also ripped across Haysville, McConnell Air Force Base and southeast Wichita, killing four more people.
