Defense wants Kansas teen’s photos kept out of trial

? A Great Bend man accused of killing a 14-year-old girl whose charred body was found at an asphalt plant doesn’t want jurors at his trial to see photos of the girl — either when she was alive or dead.

Lawyers for Adam Joseph Longoria filed motions Friday seeking to exclude any photos of Alicia DeBolt before she died. They fear such a portrait would generate sympathy for the girl and passions against the accused.

The defense also wants a hearing on the admission of gruesome photos of her remains, arguing the images may imprint what it calls “a lasting image in the minds of jurors.”

Longoria is charged with capital murder and criminal sodomy in Alicia’s death last August. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
