Wichita ? Wichita police say an ongoing family feud led a woman to stab her stepfather to death.

Police Lt. Ken Landwehr says the 18-year-old woman stabbed 34-year-old Wendell W. Smith III several times Wednesday after he came to a home to confront her mother.

Smith and the suspect’s mother have a 9-year-old child together and police say they had been arguing throughout the day about the child.

When Smith came to the house, he and the suspect’s boyfriend began to fight. Police say when Smith was down on the ground, the 18-year-old stabbed him several times.

The Wichita Eagle reports that charges are expected later this week.
