Fort Leavenworth to honor Nepal general

? The chief of staff of Nepal’s army is the newest member of the International Officer Hall of Fame at Fort Leavenworth.

Gen. Chhatra Man Singh Gurung graduated from the international officer course at the Army’s Command and General Staff College in 1973.

The Nepalese general is the third officer from the Himalayan south Asian country to be inducted into the hall of fame. A ceremony is scheduled Friday at the Command and General Staff College.

The hall of fame was established in 1973 and has 240 members representing 67 countries. It honors graduates of the college who become their nation’s top military officer, or hold an equivalent position by rank or responsibility in a multi-national military organization.
