Lenexa ? A man who strangled his pregnant wife at a Kansas hotel has been sentenced to serve 50 years in prison without parole.

Thirty-year-old Jason Cott was sentenced Thursday in Johnson County to a “hard 50” sentence for the murders of his wife and their unborn child.

Prosecutors dropped a capital murder charge against Cott in exchange for his plea to two guilty counts of first degree murder.

Cott strangled 29-year-old Angela Cott on Jan. 20. He and a roommate then dumped her body along U.S. 69 in Miami County.
