Holland, Brownback unsure about future debates

? The likelihood of more debates in the Kansas governor’s race is up in the air.

Democrat Tom Holland and Republican Sam Brownback both issued statements Thursday about which proposed debates they would participate in before the Nov. 2 election. But they didn’t commit to the same debate.

The candidates have been invited to several debates by various groups and media outlets.

Brownback says he has accepted an Oct. 13 radio debate WIBW-AM in Topeka, but his campaign says it has scheduling conflicts with three other debates.

Holland says he declined the radio event because of the format but would do the others, which include a televised debate on KSNT in Topeka.

Brownback and Holland have debated once, on Sept. 11 at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.
