KCK man gets life in prison for 2008 killing

? A Kansas City, Kan., man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing another man in 2008.

Kelvin Gibson Jr. was convicted in July of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the Oct. 6, 2008, death of Phillip Martin. The Kansas City Star reported that he was sentenced in Wyandotte County court on Friday.

Gibson will not be eligible for parole for 25 years.

A co-defendant in the murder, Katron Harris, was sentenced in April to life with no chance for parole for 26 years.
