Man killed in fall was jumping grain bins

? Larned police say a man who died last weekend after falling off a fertilizer storage bin had been drinking beer and jumping from the top of one 40-foot-high bin to another.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Matthew Dell of Larned, who was found injured at the site early Saturday and died shortly afterward.

Police Chief Charles Orth told the Great Bend Tribune that Dell and a 26-year-old friend were drinking when they climbed to the top of the storage bin.

Orth says Dell jumped from the top of one bin to another three times, but lost his balance on his fourth try and fell between the two bins.

The chief says it appears the death was accidental and investigators are waiting for toxicology reports to be completed.
