Topeka — A member of the Kansas State Board of Education has been named to the board of directors of the National Association of State Boards of Education.
Wichita resident David Dennis will serve a two-year term starting in January, representing the central region of the nation.
Dennis was elected to the 10-member Kansas board in 2008, representing the south part of Wichita and surrounding counties. He's a former Air Force colonel and teaches at Wichita North High School.
The national group represents state and territorial boards of education and assists with developing education policies and procedures.
