Woman pleads no contest to counterfeiting money, checks, driver’s licenses

A central Kansas woman has pleaded no contest to 22 charges of making counterfeit money, checks and driver’s licenses.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Linda Denny of Otis was arrested in September 2009 in Reno County after officers found equipment to make the IDs and checks in her vehicle.

Assistant prosecutor Amanda Voth said Denny made fake identification documents and had five fake driver’s licenses with her when arrested.

Denny pleaded no contest Thursday. The Hutchinson News reported that prosecutors will recommend she serve 60 days in jail and an intensive form of probation called Community Corrections.

Her lawyer says Denny would probably serve five years in prison if she violates Community Corrections.
