Author headlines Veterans Day program at Eisenhower library in Abilene

? The Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum will host author and World War II veteran Jim Sharp for its Veterans Day program this week.

Sharp served on the front lines during World War II’s Battle of the Bulge in Europe.He documented his experiences in a pocket-sized diary that the American Red Cross gave him before leaving Boston.

Sharp used the diary to write his latest book, “Diary of a Combat Infantryman: From The Bulge to Bavaria.”

He’ll speak at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Visitors Center Auditorium at the museum in Abilene. The program is free and open to the public.
