Board approves more air conditioning for Kansas State Fair

? Some buildings on the Kansas State Fairgrounds will get improved air circulation and cooling, but other improvements will be delayed.

The fair’s board on Thursday approved seeking bids on air conditioning or fans for some buildings, at a cost between $60,000 to $66,000.

The Hutchinson News reports that air conditioners or large fans will be installed in the entertainer’s lounge, the sheep and swine areas and the Cottonwood Court food court building.

The board also approved spending an estimated $30,000 to install an underground water tank near the midway for carnival workers to drain wastewater from showers or sinks from their trailers.

However, improved lighting for a parking lot and improving air flow in the Oz building were deferred because of costs.
