Janet Waugh and Willie Dove are running for Kansas State Board of Education in the 1st District.

After trailing early, Janet Waugh, a Democrat, was re-elected to the Kansas State Board of Education.
Waugh's district includes northern Lawrence and eastern Douglas County, as well as all or parts of Jefferson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties.
Other portions of Douglas County are represented by Carolyn L. Wims-Campbell, whose seat was not up for re-election this cycle.

Waugh is closing in on Dove in the Board of Education race. Waugh has 48 percent of the vote and Dove still leads with 52 percent.

Dove has lost a little ground and is at 55.7 percent.

Dove's lead is climbing 60.1 percent. Waugh is at 39.9 percent.

Dove is still holding the lead with 59.8 percent.

Dove is keeping the lead with 61.1 percent of the vote.

Dove still has the lead in the race with 61.4 percent of the vote. Waugh has 38.6 percent.
