Funeral for Shawnee firefighter killed over the weekend set for Thursday

Services are set for Thursday morning for John Glaser, the 33-year-old firefighter who died Saturday while fighting a fire.

A procession honoring the firefighter will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, 10901 Johnson Drive, and will continue past Shawnee Fire Department headquarters at 65th Street and Quivira Road, before continuing to United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood.

Glaser’s funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Glaser, who lived in Olathe, is survived by his wife and two children.
