N.M. retrieves body parts from Kansas

? Albuquerque authorities have arrived in Kansas and retrieved 12 containers of body parts linked to a New Mexico business that harvested parts for medical research. The parts were found at a Kansas medical waste company.

Wyandotte County Coroner Alan Hancock said Saturday morning two Albuquerque detectives arrived in Kansas City, loaded the containers into a rented moving truck and are driving back to New Mexico.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry said earlier this week the parts would be collected.

Bio Care of Albuquerque harvested parts from donated bodies to sell for medical research. Company owner Paul Montano faces fraud charges after parts in Kansas were identified as belonging to people whose cremated remains had supposedly been given to their families.
