Olathe ? Johnson County has been awarded a $250,000 federal grant for its emergency operations center.

Nick Crossley, Director of Johnson County Emergency Management & Homeland Security, said in a news release Friday that the money will help the county make improvements to its preparedness center.

Johnson County was one of 20 jurisdictions that received a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.
