Governor makes appointments to KTEC, KU Hospital boards

? Gov. Mark Parkinson on Thursday made appointments to the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corp., Kansas University Hospital Authority and the Kansas Securities Commission.

Parkinson named Steven Warren to the KTEC board. Warren is vice provost for research and graduate studies at Kansas University and president of the KU Center for Research.

Mark Jorgenson, regional president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bank in Kansas City, and Deryl Wynn, an attorney, were named to the KU Hospital Authority.

Parkinson also named Steven Wassom as the interim Kansas securities commissioner. Wassom will take over the duties of Chris Biggs, whom Parkinson appointed secretary of state earlier this month. Wassom has been with the securities office for more than 25 years.
