Topeka ? The Kansas National Guard has scheduled the closings of six more armories around the state, starting with the Cherryvale armory today.

The adjutant general’s office announced the latest schedule of closings Friday. The Cherryvale closing will be followed by Larned on March 11; Winfield, March 15; Russell, March 23; Garnett, March 25; and Burlington, April 11.

Five armories have already been closed. Dates are still to be set for closing the facilities in Atchison, Chanute, Goodland, Horton and Sabetha or Troy.

Units that trained at the affected armories were being reassigned elsewhere.
