I-70/I-470 Accident

— Construction combined with a multi-car accident near I-70 and I-470 in Topeka caused major traffic congestion Tuesday morning, according to KTKA.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said a machine that pours concrete broke down and delayed the reopening of the ramp at eastbound I-70 and Fairlawn, but the exit will reopen today.

An accident on westbound I-470 closed the highway at Huntoon Road. Traffic is being directed onto Wanamaker. KDOT encouraged drivers to avoid the area on their Twitter account.

Due to rubberneckers it is safe to assume it is affecting both directions!
