Leavenworth ? A 33-year-old Leavenworth man has been sentenced to more than 38 years in prison in the death of a 4-year-old boy.

It was reported that Jason Lee Jones had pleaded guilty earlier to charges of unintentional second-degree murder and abuse of a child.

But on Monday he asked Judge Gunnar Sundby to withdraw his plea.

Sundby denied the motion and sentenced Jones on Friday to 38 years in prison for the murder charge and 32 months for abuse of a child.

The sentences were ordered to run concurrently.
